The START project was presented at the 4th International Symposium on Industrial Engineering and Automation (ISIEA 2025), an international conference dedicated to key issues in industrial engineering and manufacturing, held in Bolzano from June 18 to 20, 2025.
ISIEA 2025 represented an important opportunity for scientific and technical discussion among researchers, academics, and professionals from international contexts. The 2025 edition focused on the central theme “Manufacturing 2030 – A Perspective to Future Challenges in Industrial Production,” offering a space for discussion on the future challenges of manufacturing and industrial engineering.
Within this context, the presentation of the START project was part of the debate on advanced production processes, digital technologies, and the evolution of industrial models. The conference addressed a wide range of research areas, including production and supply chain management, industrial and management engineering, automation and manufacturing technologies, as well as mechanical engineering and design.
Particular emphasis was also given to specific special tracks dedicated to emerging topics such as the introduction of Industry 5.0 in SMEs, the evolution of digital twins, human-centric manufacturing, and collaborative automation. In this scenario, START found a natural position as a project focused on industrial innovation and the development of advanced solutions for the manufacturing sector.
START's participation in ISIEA 2025 confirms the value of the project in the scientific and international arena, contributing to the dissemination of its content within a community of experts engaged in the study of the transformations taking place in production systems. The exchange with researchers and professionals from different countries represents an important opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between research, technological innovation, and industrial applications.
